Size Guide

Hat Sizing

Most of our hats are one size with an adjustable closure, so the short answer is: it will fit. Here is the longer answer.

How to measure your head

  1. Wrap a soft tape measure around your head, about a finger's width above your ears and eyebrows — where the hat band would sit.
  2. Keep the tape snug but not tight. One finger should slide under it.
  3. Note the measurement in inches. That number is your head circumference.

No tape measure? Use a piece of string, mark it, then hold it against a ruler.

Adjustable hats — rope hats, truckers, dad hats

Size Head circumference
One size (adjustable) 21" – 24"

These close with a snapback or a slide buckle at the back. That range covers the large majority of adult heads.

Structured vs. unstructured

  • Structured crowns hold their shape and sit taller on the head. Classic ballcap look.
  • Unstructured crowns are softer and sit lower and closer. This is the dad hat fit.

Structured hats can feel slightly snugger at the same measurement, so if you are near the top of the range, an unstructured style is the safer pick.

Bucket hats

Size Head circumference
S/M 21" – 22.5"
L/XL 22.5" – 24"

Between sizes? Size up. A bucket hat that is slightly loose still looks right; one that is tight does not.
